As with much of the content in this game, different team compositions fulfill different purposes depending on the demands of the stage you’re trying to tackle. However, it’s generally unrealistic to be investing in more than 5 or 6 characters at a time, as Silver Coin and EXP Potion costs for upgrading become an incredible roadblock after around Level 40. Hence, it’s important to pick what you want to invest in from the beginning. This team builder is formulated based on the Demon Spire. As the benchmark for what is currently the hardest content in this game (apart from Time Rift SP, which is essentially a huge stat check for the most part and comprises past Demon Spire stages with minor alterations), this can also be seen as a cookie cutter for builds that can typically beat all other available content as well.
Standard 3-2
3 Attackers + 2 Supporters/Healers
This is an economical, well-balanced team setup that’s fairly easy to achieve. Aiko, who you begin the game with, is an auto-include, which means you only have to find one other Supporter or Healer to meet the requirements of this team; preferably one that provides both survivability and damage output to your team, such as Queen Daphne Bloom or Phasi Princess Lulu. Since Attackers are the most common class in the game, you likely won’t have trouble filling the remaining slots. Dragoon Iris and Blademaster Minayomi are common options for Attackers, as they are either on par with or better than SSR options.
Recommended Standard 3-2 Team:
Queen Daphne Bloom (Leader)
Demon Maid Aiko
Dragoon Iris
Blademaster Minayomi
Any SSR Attacker or Obstructer
Standard 2-3
2 Attackers + 3 Supporters/Healers
This is a slight variant of the previous setup, which requires you to have 3 Supporters or Healers instead of 2. The reason why this configuration isn’t listed first is because it’s slightly more expensive to achieve – the Supporters and Healers that provide both survivability and damage output to your team are mostly SSR. However, it should generally be more powerful than a Standard 3-2 team assuming the same level of investment.
Recommended Standard 2-3 Team:
Queen Daphne Bloom (Leader)
Phasi Princess Lulu
Dragoon Iris
Demon Maid Aiko
Blademaster Minayomi
Standard 2-1-2
2 Attackers + 1 Protector + 2 Supporters/Healers
Another variant of the Standard setup involves substituting one Attacker for a Protector. It should be less potent in offensive capabilities most of the time, but some content requires a Protector to ensure your survival or simply as a quality of life addition. For the most part, the only Protector worth using is Archdemon Satan.
Recommended Standard 2-1-2 Team:
Queen Daphne Bloom (Leader)
Demon Maid Aiko
Dragoon Iris
Blademaster Minayomi
Archdemon Satan
Summer Lulu 1-4
1 Attacker + 4 Supporters/Healers (including Summer Lulu)
This team enters hyper-investment territory, but the payoff is that it’s among the best all-rounder teams available in terms of survivability and damage output. The reason why the team is so expensive to build is because it relies on very specific characters (Summer Lulu, Queen Daphne Bloom and Demon Maid Aiko are mandatory) and even the remaining two flex slots are highly recommended to be SSRs. The game plan for this team is to stack Queen Daphne Bloom’s potent Attack Power buff from her Ultimate Skill twice by using it every fourth turn and again on every fifth turn by resetting it with Demon Maid Aiko’s Ultimate Skill, which is compounded by Summer Lulu’s own buffs. Then, use the sole Attacker’s Ultimate Skill to deal massive damage to the target with all the buffs stacked. Summer Lulu’s Leader Ability negates the downside of running this many Supporters/Healers (which is the lack of offensive power), as all your Supporters/Healers now deal damage on their attacks. Bond 3 on Queen Daphne Bloom is recommended as it reduces your burst rotation by one turn – you can stack her buff every third and fourth turn instead of every fourth and fifth turn, thus not “wasting” a turn of Demon Maid Aiko’s Ultimate Skill CD.
Recommended Summer Lulu 1-4 Team:
Summer Lulu (Leader)
Idol Noel
Queen Daphne Bloom
Demon Maid Aiko
Summer Shizuka
Harvest Maiden Fiora 3-1-1
3 Attackers + 1 Protector + Harvest Maiden Fiora
As is tradition with the teams with the highest ceilings in the game, this team requires a limited SSR, Harvest Maiden Fiora. It builds around her potent Leader Ability, which requires 3 Attackers and 1 Protector in your team to gain powerful buffs. The gameplay for this team is fairly linear, and while Archdemon Satan is recommended as the Protector, the Attacker slots are very flexible. Ideally, you’d want to use Blademaster Minayomi and Summer Shizuka for their defense debuffs, and an Attacker with high raw damage output such as a 5★ Bond 5 Archdemon Ba’al or Dragoon Iris in cases where AOE is favored. If survivability becomes a problem (as Harvest Maiden Fiora is the only sustain in this setup), substituting the Protector for Queen Daphne Bloom is a flex option.
Recommended Harvest Maiden Fiora 3-1-1 Team:
Harvest Maiden Fiora (Leader)
Blademaster Minayomi
Summer Shizuka
Archdemon Ba’al
Archdemon Satan
Hallow-Queen Salucia Mono Wind 4-1
4 Wind Attackers (including Hallow-Queen Salucia) + Phasi Princess Lulu
As the title of the team implies, this team uses only Wind element characters. Again, as the team requires a limited SSR and its optimal configuration involves using 5 SSR characters in the team, it is extremely expensive to build. The payoff, however, is the current strongest team in the game, as insane raw multipliers compounded with the current Water element-heavy endgame content greatly favors Mono Wind. Like the Harvest Maiden Fiora team, there isn’t too much to talk about with regards to this team’s strategy, as its strength mostly lies in simply being very synergistic with multiple Wind element buffs for your team and debuffs for the enemy; while Phasi Princess Lulu acts as the sole source of sustain for the team, the amount of amplification provided by the team as a whole, as well as the 35% Max HP buff and the 25% Recovery Rate buff provided by Hallow-Queen Salucia’s Leader Ability, it is more than enough to keep the team alive. Mono Wind stands at the pinnacle of the game right now, if only because Hallow-Queen Salucia’s Leader Ability is a literal essay.
Recommended Hallow-Queen Salucia Mono Wind 4-1 Team:
Hallow-Queen Salucia (Leader)
Phasi Princess Lulu
Elf Queen Salucia
Risen Princess Chizuru
Timid Paper Bag Wolf Fufu
Dark Christmas Aiko “Hoe Hoe Hoe”
Dark Christmas Aiko + Christmas Queen of the Dwarves Lana + Christmas Reindeer Evie + 2 Flex Slots
The core of this team is the three limited characters from the Christmas 2021 event, which is fairly self-explanatory once you read their abilities. The main idea is to abuse their very specific synergies with one another to deal massive damage with Dark Christmas Aiko, a somewhat similar concept to Summer Lulu teams. By sacrificing some power from the other two Christmas characters, Dark Christmas Aiko amplifies her own personal damage massively. The other two slots in the team are fairly flexible, with the cheapest and most popular option being to simply slot in the Queen Daphne Bloom + Demon Maid Aiko combination just like Summer Lulu teams to go all-in on boosting Dark Christmas Aiko’s damage. The main draw of this team is its cost efficiency in spite of its relative lower ceiling compared to other meta configurations – unlike Summer Lulu teams which ideally run Summer Shizuka as a 4 CD Attacker, Dark Christmas Aiko has a 5 CD Ultimate Skill, making Queen Daphne Bloom’s Bond 3 upgrade less relevant. Alternative options to this pair for these two flex slots include defense shred such as Summer Shizuka or Blademaster Minayomi, good standalone characters such as Idol Noel, or Store Manager Sakuya Yume who benefits from the 25% Attack Power buff to Dark characters that Dark Christmas Aiko provides. Even Archdemon Satan can be slotted into the team with little repercussions if you require her potent taunt uptime for specific battles. However, the Queen Daphne Bloom + Demon Maid Aiko combination is extremely well rounded and adds significant survivability to the team, mitigating the self-damage incurred by Dark Christmas Aiko. This team of five is also unique in that it is the only complete competitive team revolving around limited characters that you can reroll for in its entirety (during the Christmas 2021 event), as Christmas Reindeer Evie can be obtained from the event for free, meaning that you only have to reroll for Dark Christmas Aiko, Christmas Queen of the Dwarves Lana, and Queen Daphne Bloom, who has her own separate banner during this time period.
Recommended Dark Christmas Aiko “Hoe Hoe Hoe” Team:
Dark Christmas Aiko (Leader)
Christmas Queen of the Dwarves Lana
Queen Daphne Bloom
Demon Maid Aiko
Christmas Reindeer Evie
Synergistic Pairs
Apart from the clear build-around SSRs with extremely strong Leader Abilities, there are some strong pairings of characters that can be good in most situations.
Demon Maid Aiko + Supporter
As the only character in the game who can provide an Ultimate Skill reset on demand, Demon Maid Aiko is meta relevant at all stages of the game, from the moment you get her in the tutorial. Her pairing with Queen Daphne Bloom in the Summer Lulu 1-4 team is one such example of this synergy, but she can be paired with other Supporter such as Idol Noel, which essentially causes Idol Noel’s potent Ultimate Skill to have half its original CD, while providing CD reduction to the rest of your team more frequently, amplifying her heal over time immensely, and if Idol Noel is 5★, applies nigh unbreakable shields.
Demon Maid Aiko + Attacker
This is the same concept as before, but geared more offensively. Early on, you’ll either abuse this combination with Blademaster Minayomi or Dragoon Iris for insane single target and AOE damage output respectively. Dragon Iris being able to apply her damage over time debuff twice as fast, along with a 50% bonus from Demon Maid Aiko, quickly makes short work of any content that has multiple enemies.
Summer Shizuka + Blademaster Minayomi
Blademaster Minayomi is an extremely strong standalone character as she can shred enemies’ defense while dealing respectable personal damage, but adding Summer Shizuka, who is essentially an SSR version of her, puts their shared single target damage output into overdrive. Both their defense debuffs can be applied to the target, making them both deal even more damage.
Archdemon Satan + Head Military Nurse Irene
Head Military Nurse Irene usually isn’t the best option for a Healer, as pure Healers don’t do very well in this game unless they also provide some sort of offensive support (now where have I heard this before? Qiqi, is that you?). However, she has the most potent heal, with a whopping 150% ratio on her basic heal. This has extreme synergy with Archdemon Satan’s Leader Ability, which permanently taunts all enemies, meaning that you can use Head Military Nurse Irene with practically no drawbacks as you’ll only need to heal one target unless the enemy has an AOE attack. Her Ultimate Skill provides a single target with the strongest heal over time in the game, as well as an incoming damage reduction buff.
